About the Role
The Web Designer uses creativity to design and develop web-based training modules within company guidelines. Collaborating with the FS Retail Learning team, the Web Learning Designer executes the Concept and Design requirements of the Training project. This may include creating the appropriate visual strategy for the graphical user interface, animations; video inclusion, Html construction and sees the design developed through to detailed pixel specifications. Our Retail Learning Web Developers work as valued members of a team that is dedicated to ensuring our training meets the highest quality and content standards.

About the Responsibilities

Web Page Design and Development

Works with Instructional Designer , Subject Matter Experts and internal resources to develop engaging content for training applications
Designs and implements Create effective web user interface layouts for educational eGuides and eModules,
Develops html code in support of Learning objectives
Create Interactive Macromedia Flash animations for learning and assessments,
Creation of eModules for Learning Paths integration,
Asset creation for internal and external clients
Maintaining strict brand standards.
Accommodates design and integration of both English and French courses and assessments
Works with video support personnel to develop and implement videos within the web environment
Identifies and resolves technical issues with assistance from Retail Learning Specialists,
Completes mockups and implements designs under tight and changing deadlines.
Performs synch-up tasks between various applications with high degree of accuracy.
Develops HTML code

Planning and Coordination of Work

Manages and prioritizes multiple projects within given deadlines.
Provides Instructional Design Manager with periodic updates according to project milestones
Provides accurate work estimates and tracks time.
Informs Clients and Instructional Design Manager when additional time is required to complete a project.
Collaborates with Instructional Designer and project stakeholders to understand project needs and requirements fully before beginning to work.
Adjusts to project requirement and scope changes while maintaining high quality of work.
Provides Clients with Story boards and Wireframes, first, and then organizes user testing when project is published.
Archives final design resource files for each completed project.
Informs Stakeholders and Instructional Design Manager when projects require major creative changes, run into difficulties or require special functionality.

Teamwork and Communication
Maintains effective working relationship with rest of Learning team, internal Clients and co-workers from other departments
Fosters a positive work environment and assists co-workers, supervisors and Clients when able.
Coordinates with Instructional Designer(s) when implementing changes to existing code or procedures.
Communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Discusses issues and problems with rest of team as need arises.

Customer Service

Communicates with co-workers and Clients in a professional manner.
Returns phone calls and emails in a timely fashion.
Responds promptly to Clients' needs and requests
Keeps clients informed throughout the design & development process & follows up upon completion of a project.
